Lucky Shamrock Matcha Bread

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an easy to make shamrock-shaped matcha bread using just 7 basic ingredients. A delicious and beautiful bread to add to the festive food and traditions.

INGREDIENTS

DoughQuantity
Flour300g
Water195ml
Margarine15g
Salt5.5g
Sugar15g
Saf-instant® Gold instant dry yeast6g
Matcha green tea powder12g

PREPARE THE DOUGH

  1. Place all the ingredients into the mixer and mix for 6 – 8 minutes till dough is smooth.
  2. Place the dough into an oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap or damp cloth.
  3. Let it rest for 5 minutes at room temperature.

SHAPING

  1. Divide the dough into 12 pieces of approximately 40g each.
  2. Shape each dough into a heart shape or 2 tear drop shapes.
  3. Place 3 of these together to form a shamrock.
  4. Divide the remaining dough into 4 pieces of approximately 17g each.
  5. Shape each dough into a stem and place it with the shamrock dough above.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rest for 90 minutes in a warm temperature.

BAKING

  1. Preheat oven at 160˚C.
  2. Bake for 15 minutes at 160˚C.
  3. Brush a layer of sugar wash after baking.
  4. Let it cool before serving.
